Detailed job description and main responsibilities

On a daily basis you will do anything from the equipment runs to and from Sterile Services. To checking our medical gas reserves, and preparing patient trollies. As the rush comes, the theatres will request patients to be collected form the ward where you will be able to inform the department of any delays, liaising with our Theatre Coordinator. 

As the day goes on, you'll be on hand to help wherever is needed throughout the department.

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Working in patient/customer facing roles before
Desirable criteria
  • Previous experience in a healthcare environment.

Skills/ Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Understanding of responsibility of a porter
  • Understanding of customer care
  • Basic knowledge of Health and Safety
Desirable criteria
  • Understanding of COSHH
  • General knowledge of hygiene and cleanliness
