Main duties of the job

The post holder will be responsible for delivering high-quality psychotherapy to individuals experiencing a wide range of psychological difficulties. This includes providing comprehensive specialist psychological assessments, using a variety of evidence-based tools and approaches to develop an in-depth understanding of clients’ needs. The role involves delivering specialist therapy to clients presenting with complex and sensitive issues such as trauma, chronic or acute illness, bereavement, infertility, and multiple losses.

The post holder will work autonomously within professional and service guidelines, exercising clinical judgement to manage complex cases and formulate appropriate care plans. They will be expected to contribute to multidisciplinary team meetings, offering specialist consultation and psychological insights to colleagues across health and social care teams. Strong communication and liaison skills are essential to ensure coordinated care and support for service users. In addition, the post holder will maintain accurate clinical records, engage in regular supervision, and contribute to service evaluation and development in line with clinical governance and best practice standards.
