Job overview

We are looking to recruit an experienced Band 7 Senior Nurse to work within our PCN District Nursing teams.  This is an exciting opportunity to support and develop a team of community nurses, working closely with specialist teams, GP's and social services to ensure the best possible care is provided to patients.  This is a challenging and varied role which will require excellent organisational and communication skills

Sutton Health and Care is a pioneering partnership made up of the GP federation in Sutton, the London Borough of Sutton, South West London and St George’s Mental Health Trust and Epsom and St Helier hospitals. Working together, we provide community services in Sutton, caring for adults in their own homes across the borough, providing children’s community health services, and sexual health services. The pioneering partnership of Sutton Health and Care is truly exciting, and together, we can achieve more for the people we care for.

Main duties of the job

Provide strong leadership to a team of community nurses.

Demonstrate clinical expertise and work as a professional role model to all staff.

Provide support and an appropriate learning environment for both pre and post registration students as required.

Responsible for planning to ensure an appropriate skills mix to cover workload and to proactively identify any resolve  workforce issues.

Have the ability to negotiate and work effectively across all agencies for the maximum effectiveness of care.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • 1st Level registration educated to Level 3
  • Evidence of Continuing Professional Development with course relevant to Community Nursing
  • Specialist Practice District Nurse registration
  • Evidence of experience of Team management
Desirable criteria
  • Leadership and Management Qualification/or willingness to work towards
  • Non-Medical prescribing

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Minimum one year nurse leader and team management experience
  • Previous experience of Multidisciplinary working

Skills

Essential criteria
  • Exceptional Clinical skills- Including but not limited to IV Management, NPWT, Syringe Pump Management, Complex wound care
