Position: Emergency Department Administrative Coordinator
Location: Wexham Park Hospital
Contract: Full Time (including occasional evenings, weekends, and night shifts as required)
We are seeking a motivated and dynamic individual to take on the role of Administrative Coordinator within our Urgent and Emergency Care Department at Frimley Park Hospital.
This is a newly established position, offering a unique and exciting opportunity to shape and develop the role in collaboration with the Directorate Service Manager. As the lead for the administrative team in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment, you will play a key role in supporting the smooth running of the department and ensuring high standards of service delivery.
It’s a particularly exciting time to join the Emergency Department. With a strong focus on patient-centred care and access to modernised, purpose-built facilities, this role offers both challenge and reward in equal measure. Main duties of the job
Lead and manage a team of Band 2 and Band 3 administrative staff, overseeing daily operations to ensure efficient and effective service delivery.
Support and motivate your team to consistently provide excellent customer care throughout a 24/7, 365-day service.
Contribute to the planning and coordination of critical incidents, helping to develop and restructure administrative services as needed to meet evolving departmental demands.
Take responsibility for workforce planning and recruitment, ensuring that staffing levels are appropriate and that new hires are effectively onboarded.
Ensure that all team members complete mandatory training and appraisals on time, maintaining compliance with hospital policies and regulatory requirements.
Monitor and maintain staff performance, providing guidance, support, and development opportunities to promote a skilled and engaged workforce.
We are seeking a proactive individual with strong administrative and leadership experience, preferably within a healthcare environment.

- Microsoft office skills at ECDL level or equivalent experience
- Degree or equivalent experience

- Demonstrable experience of managing/supervising an office function, preferable in an NHS or service environment
- Experience of working in the NHS either in a hospital, private practice or for a GP
- Experience of leading and managing staff

- Good interpersonal, oral and written skills including chairing meetings and writing reports
- Knowledge of data protection and issues around patient confidentiality
