Job overview
We are excited to offer an opportunity to join our dedicated Infant Feeding Team as a Band 6 Infant Feeding Midwife at Wexham Park Hospital, 30 hours per week. This role plays a key part in supporting women and families to make informed infant feeding choices and promoting best practice across maternity services.
Working across hospital and community settings, you will provide specialist support, education and leadership in infant feeding, contributing to improved outcomes for mothers and babies and supporting the Trust’s Baby Friendly standards.
Main duties of the job
- Provide expert advice and support to women on infant feeding across antenatal and postnatal care
- Support and deliver infant feeding and breastfeeding clinics, including tongue‑tie services
- Promote Baby Friendly standards and support staff to deliver consistent, evidence‑based care
- Deliver education and training to midwives, students and multidisciplinary teams
- Monitor infant feeding outcomes and contribute to service development and improvement
- Work clinically as part of the wider midwifery team across hospital and community settings

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Registered Midwife
- Mentorship / SLIP / PSPA
- Evidence of continuing professional development
Desirable criteria
- Completed UNICEF course in breastfeeding
Experience
Essential criteria
- Evidence of successful collaboration with multi-disciplinary teams
- Demonstrate application of the child protection processes
Skills & Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Demonstrates clinical skills commensurate with a midwife who has migrated from band 5 to 6
- Demonstrates excellent written and presentation skills.
- Ability to work on own initiative and prioritise workload effectively.
- Excellent communication skills
Desirable criteria
- Understanding of the BFI standards
