An excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic, adaptable and highly motivated pharmacy technician has arisen within the Neath Cluster of Swansea Bay University Health Board. This post will be varied, providing you with the opportunity to work within a friendly and forward-thinking team to improve the quality of prescribing, liaising closely with GPs, community-based healthcare professionals and acute care colleagues at a time of transformational change within primary care.
Primary Care experience is desirable, but we would welcome applications from those with hospital or community experience who can clearly demonstrate the aptitude required to work within a busy, changing environment.
The role is a part-time position available for 27 hours a week, and flexibility could be considered for a suitable candidate.
Main duties of the job
The Neath Cluster Medicine Management Technician will work closely with two cluster pharmacists to improve the quality, safety, and cost-effectiveness of prescribing within the cluster. This will help enhance patient outcomes and reduce harm, which could otherwise lead to unscheduled care and hospital admissions.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- BTEC Pharmaceutical Science or equivalent (i.e. NVQ Level III Pharmaceutical Services)
- Registered with professional body - GPhC (RegPharmTech)
Desirable criteria
- Further management or clinical qualification
Experience
Essential criteria
- 5 years post qualification experience
- Experience in a relevant primary care role
Desirable criteria
- Drug information/ Medication review skills
