We are looking for a part-time permanent contract on 15 hours a week, Monday to Friday.
You will be required to undertake hospital duties with duties to guarantee outside the local authorities of the Health Board, including in investment environments and those that are not eligible under the control of the Domestic Services Supervisor.
Situations may be unexpected, the organization may choose the position in a unit or other sites for the Health Board.

Main duties of the job
Follow departmental procedures and provide a responsive cleaning and decontamination service for patient and non-patient areas throughout the healthcare premises. The post holder will work across traditional staff group boundaries to provide an effective and timely service and maintain a safe and pleasant environment.
All work to be undertaken in line with Health & Safety, COSHH and cleanliness policies and procedures, and with a commitment to customer care, following on the job training.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Responsible for cleaning and basic maintenance (as outlined in operating manuals and method statements) of cleaning and
decontamination equipment and use simple hand tools to remove and replace fittings to enable effective cleaning and
decontamination to be undertaken.
Operate a range of specialised decontamination equipment to provide timely cleaning and decontamination service, in accordance
with control measures and spillage procedures identified through coshh (control of substances hazardous to health regulations)
assessments
Use machinery in a correct and safe manner and as per instructions/training and to ensure that all equipment is maintained and
stored in a clean, tidy and safe condition.

Qualifications & Knowledge
Essential criteria
- NVQ Level 2 (Customer Services/Cleaning) Or Undertake a period of Induction to include Role relates training eg COSHH, Manual handling IPC etc
- Knowledge of Infection Control Policy, Guidelines and Procedures.
Experience
Essential criteria
- Experience of working as part of a Team
- Experience in a similar role.
Desirable criteria
- Experience of working within the NHS
Aptitude and abilities
Essential criteria
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to carry out assigned tasks effectively and efficiently in a busy environment.
- Working knowledge of basic information technology.
Desirable criteria
- Welsh Language Skills are desirable levels 1 to 5 in understanding, speaking, reading, and writing in Welsh

- Ability to travel within geographical area and work hours flexibly to meet the demands of the service e.g. shift patterns as per HB sites.
