Job overview
The Post holder will be part of the process involved in inpatient and day patient catering and domestic duties to ensure that
the department provides services in line with process and Infection Protection Control (IPC) guidelines and policy providing a
high-quality efficient service that fulfils the needs of the Department in accordance with service level agreements. In the
course of their duties, they will;
• Responsible for the regeneration of foods
• Delivery and return of regeneration trolleys to and from the kitchen
• Cleaning areas e.g. ward, kitchen and equipment etc.
• Responsible for general domestic duties as required by the service.
Main duties of the job
• Prepare and cook special dietary meals and snacks for patients i.e. Neutropenic, C.C.U. etc.
• Regeneration of foods in line with cook-chill/cook-freeze guideline including the delivery and return of regeneration food trolleys
to/from the kitchen. Prepare and assemble crockery, cutlery and utensils for each patient meal service and the buttering of bread
and clear and wash all crockery, cutlery, glasses etc. Using appropriate dishwashing machine and detergent.
• General cleaning duties will include but not limited to; vacuuming soft floor coverings and clean all hard floor surfaces by static
mopping, damp mopping or vacuuming, buffing, spray cleaning and scrubbing of hard floor surfaces, high- and low-level dusting –
dry/damp furniture and fixtures, empty bins and glass cleaning etc
• At time will be required to clean body fluids and spills etc in all public areas

- NVQ Level 2 (Catering/Customer Services/Cleaning) or Basic Food Hygiene Certificate Or Undertake a period of Induction to include Basic Food Hygiene COSH Manual handling
Experience
