This temporary top up will be in place until the annual pay uplift for 2025/26 is confirmed.

Job overview

The post holder will be responsible for the operation, organisation, and supervision of an efficient and effective estates stores service for all building and engineering services throughout the Health Board. In the course of their duties will:
• Submit and receipting orders using the Oracle online ordering system and Computer Aided Facilities Management System (CAFM), dealing with all related and relevant queries, and ensuring the prompt delivery of orders, with relevant documentation, undertaking routine and ad-hoc stock checks, requisitioning stock and non-stock materials, monitoring and controlling the inventory and providing quarterly updates on expenditure and the value of stock to the Line Manager.
• Work within clearly defined operational policies, and especially Standing Orders and Standing Financial Instructions, using own initiative and managing own workload referring to the designating manager as necessary.
• Be a representative of the Health Board and must conduct themselves in a polite, friendly and professional manner when engaging with courier service operators and any visitors to the stores.
• Ensure proper standards of cleanliness are met in the Estates stores department including the removal of any associated waste within the Health Board’s recycling guidelines.

Knowledge and Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Educated to vocational level 3 in warehousing and distribution or able to demonstrate to equivalent level of knowledge, skills and experience.
  • Knowledge of IT systems to raise stock orders and monitor stock control.
  • Knowledge of stock control, procurement, supply chain and logistics
Desirable criteria
  • Knowledge of building and engineering materials.
  • Proficient in the use of the Oracle Procurement System.

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Must have previous experience of working in a stores environment.
