The Swansea gynae-oncology centre treats a high volume of patients with complex operative and perioperative needs including multi-visceral resections for advanced ovarian cancer and pelvic exenterative surgery for locally advanced or recurrent gynaecological/ urological and colorectal cancers. There is also a high volume of advanced laparoscopic surgery. The post-holder will be assigned solely to the department of gynae-oncology and as such there is no obstetric commitment.
The post is 40 hours per week with no on-call commitment, but opportunities for locum cover do exist within the department if the post-holder wanted to explore other opportunities and experience. Additional duties should be discussed with the clinical lead before confirmation with the department.
