This person will work closely with pharmacy colleagues to provide an efficient and robust supply of chemotherapy to in patients and outpatients at Singleton Hospital.
You must have excellent interpersonal, communication and organisational skills.
Main duties of the job
Within the Dispensary, you will dispense prescriptions for inpatients and outpatients, as well as greeting patients and staff at our reception. You will support the procurement strategy, monitor storage, provide stock co-ordination and supply of pre-filled chemotherapy on a day to day basis.
You will work closely with the dispensary team and support members of the ward pharmacy team with supply of medication and processing of discharge prescription dispensing.
You will support the education and training of new staff as required.
You will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills combined with good time management and organisational skills.
Singleton hospital looks out over the sweep of Swansea Bay, 5 minutes’ walk from the beach and within 15 minutes’ drive to the award winning coast of the Gower peninsula, the UK’s first area of outstanding natural beauty.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Qualifications & Knowledge
Essential criteria
- 5 GCSE A to C grade or equivalent.
Experience
Desirable criteria
- Previous successful experience of working in a hospital or community pharmacy.
Aptitude and Abilities
Essential criteria
- Able to carry out verbal and written instructions accurately.
- Able to communicate clearly and effectively both verbally and written.
- Ability to work to a full range of local pharmacy codes and procedures.
- Be computer literate, being able to use Microsoft Office and have basic keyboard skills.
