Job overview

To provide administration support to specific areas within the Radiology Directorate as required.

To provide admin support to all staff within the radiology directorate and  create and mange appointments for all imaging modalities.

 

Main duties of the job

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Radiology Team, based at Singleton Hospital.

We are looking to recruit a full and part time post, Monday – Friday, 8:30-5pm.

The successful candidate will need to be able to organise and prioritise own workload and work on their own initiative.

They should have good numeracy skills, some background knowledge of radiology procedures office administration experience and a good knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 packages.

Duties will include:

Providing administration support to specific areas within the Radiology Directorate as required.

Providing and distributing reports for specific areas of work to the relevant teams.

If you are driven, enthusiastic, and are suitably qualified, this post will offer an exciting new challenge.

Full training will be given.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Qualifications & Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • A Levels or equivalent
  • Numeracy and literacy skills
  • ILM management level 3 qualification or equivalent operational experience
  • Radiology specific competency – understanding of the patient requirements and associated examinations
  • An understanding of service provisions. Knowledge of the data Protection Act To participate in Mandatory Health Board training including, Fire, Violence and Aggression, Manual Handling & Major Incident Training
Desirable criteria
  • ECDL or equivalent computer courses

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Previous clerical experience is essential in a healthcare environment
  • Experience using Patient Information Systems
  • Managing and supervising of other staff
  • Managing non routine queries

Aptitude and abilities

Essential criteria
  • Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and focus on patient care and service provision.
  • Keyboard skills
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to demonstrate tact, sensitivity and diplomacy
