Job overview
Provide support service to inpatient and outpatient patients based on needs, and research evidence.
Participate in the multi-disciplinary team, bring youth and community perspective.
Take on individual referral for teenagers and young adults experiencing difficulty in managing hospital admissions/procedures. Using evidence – based practice to asses, plan, implement and evaluate interventions.
Main duties of the job
Co-design, lead and deliver recreational programmes designs to reduce psychological impact of renal treatments and to promote adjustments, post treatments
Provide and lead on a wide range of cognitive, recreational and social activities. To enable social and emotional development throughout the renal disease trajectory.
Mentor discreet goal, under guidance of the psychological team.

Experience

- Must have a wide-ranging understanding if issues affecting young people and barriers that affect young people’s development.

- It would be beneficial if work with young people has been within a number of capacities / environments.
Aptitude and abilities

- Candidate’s must have excellent interpersonal skills and be able to communicate with a wide range of people in variety of situations.
