Job overview

We’re looking for more people to join our Hospital Cleaning Team at Singleton Hospital to help us provide a spotless environment for patients.

Being a cleaner in our Hospitals is a special job. Our cleaners are key members of ward teams, working together with clinical staff to support the wellbeing of patients while they are in hospital.

This is because a sparkling clean environment not only makes a hospital stay more pleasant - it also helps keep infections at bay.

Cleaning in a Hospital requires skills over and above a typical cleaning job, so we also provide free specialist training to give you that extra knowledge.

We are offering part time permanent contracts with hours from 20 Hours - 32.5 Hours per week.

You will be required to undertake duties to ensure the upkeep of a clean and hygienic environment within the hospital and other Health Board premises, inclusive of in-patient and non-patient environments under the direction of the Domestic Services Supervisor.

Due to unforeseen circumstances, on occasions, the post holder may be required to work at a unit other sites across the Health Board.

We look forward to hearing to receiving your application.

Main duties of the job

Follow departmental procedures and provide a responsive cleaning and decontamination  service for patient and non-patient areas throughout the healthcare premises. The post holder will work across traditional staff group boundaries to provide an effective and timely service and maintain a safe and pleasant environment.

All work to be undertaken in line with Health & Safety, COSHH and cleanliness policies and procedures, and with a commitment to customer care, following on the job training.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
