Job overview
Cumbria, Northumberland, Tyne and Wear NHS Foundation Trust provides a highly specialist service for adults with Mental Health conditions and/or a Learning Disability. Our service at Carleton Clinic is an established inpatient service which includes male adult acute admission mental health, female adult acute admission mental health, older adult functional and older adult organic and learning disability services.
This post is suitable for a Mental Health or Learning Disability nurse, who is registered with the NMC. The post will provide senior leadership to inpatient services at night with the successful candidate providing senior management experience and clinical leadership to Carleton Clinic inpatient wards.
Main duties of the job
You will need to demonstrate senior clinical leadership and support to our inpatient wards out of hours.
You will need to be clinically confident, resilient, solution focused and competent in working within an inpatient setting and be able to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary context. You should have a collaborative and enthusiastic style as well as a passion and commitment to networking with other services out of hours.
The post requires someone who can adopt a flexible, adaptable, and proactive approach to the workplace.

Essential criteria
- Professional Nursing Qualification: Registered Nurse (M) ENB 998 or equivalent
- ENB 998 or equivalent
- Evidence of ongoing study and development
Knowledge and Experience
Essential criteria
- At least 2 years post registration
- Having worked in a supervisory capacity
- Safe and detailed working knowledge of Mental Health Act
- Broad experience within various inpatient settings
- Experience of delivering clinical supervision
