Job overview
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a motivated, flexible and dynamic Theatre Orderly to work within Cardiothoracic Theatres. Cardiothoracic Theatres comprises of 5 operating theatres that undertake all aspects of adult and paediatric Cardiothoracic surgery. The post holder will carry out all orderly duties and assist the Department Co-ordinator in the provision of Orderly services to the Freeman Cardiothoracic Theatres.

Main duties of the job
- The post holder will be responsible for the safe transfer of patients to and from the operating theatres.
- Collect and deliver blood and specimen samples.
- Collect and deliver equipment to many departments.
- Cleaning and care of patient trolleys.
- Checking and stocking of theatre facilities and to assist the theatre personnel as required.
- Maintain cleanliness within the department .

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
The post holder will be expected to work as part of a team of 20 orderlies
providing support to the theatre teams across the Trust, be accepting of change and be adaptable to the needs of the service.
