As a Domestic Assistant you will provide a high quality cleaning service working either individually or as part of a team to ensure a clean and safe environment is maintained for patients, staff and visitors.

Monday - Friday 07.00-10.00

Monday - Friday 14.00 - 22.00

Monday - Wednesday 22.00-06.00

Thursday - Friday 22.00 - 06.00

Saturday & Sunday 07.00-15.00

Saturday & Sunday 17.00-20.00

Main duties of the job

  • To provide a high standard of cleaning within clinical and non-clinical areas reducing the risk of infections by following agreed work schedules, methods and procedures in accordance with the National Standards of Cleanliness.
  • Operating cleaning equipment, machinery in accordance with manufacturer's instructions.
  • Disposal of waste in accordance with the Trust Waste Policy.
  • Accurate completion of all required documentation to support specific service processes , eg Terminal cleans.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

  • To perform cleaning and other associated task in any ward, department, operating theatre, laboratory, corridor, catering area, office or residential accommodation as may be required and shall include all or any of the under mentioned tasks, which may include working as a team member
  • To ensure the highest possible standard of cleanliness is achieved and complying with the National Standards of Cleanliness, and the local Infection Control Policy within given areas to minimise the risk of cross infection for staff, patients and members of the public within Trust premises.
  • Undertake deep clean/isolation cleans following national and local guidelines
