Job overview
We are looking for a friendly individual with initiative and a positive approach to work as part of the admin team supporting activity across Breast Services delivered by Gateshead Health NHS Foundation Trust.
The post holder will have the ability to communicate positively at all levels as well as being able to manage own workload by prioritising tasks accordingly to meet national screening targets.
The successful candidate will be educated to GCSE standard or equivalent and have working knowledge of Microsoft Window packages and possess good interpersonal and organisational skills, be a team player and work individually using initiative.
A flexible approach to work within the core hours of the service: Monday to Friday 8am to 8pm and occasional Saturdays is essential to meet service needs.
Main duties of the job
You will ensure provision of an effective and efficient administration office and reception, which will include working off-site at other venues when required. There will be a need to assist with data entry and actively monitor appointments using the relevant I.T software systems.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
To assist with data entry for the National Breast Screening Programme
To actively monitor appointments for Breast Screening using the relevant screening software systems
To provide a competent and efficient reception service
To handle any queries or telephone enquiries in an accurate and professional manner
To deal with patient’s notes and ensure they are kept safely, properly updated and the confidentiality of the information contained within is maintained
Manage own workload by prioritising tasks accordingly in order to meet screening targets and deadlines.
Carry out general administration duties e.g. filing, photocopying etc

- Educated to GCSE standard or equivalent experience
- IT qualification
- NVQ Business and Administration Level 2
