Job overview

We are looking for a friendly individual with initiative and a positive approach to work as part of a team based within the Breast Screening and Assessment Centre, QEH.  

You will ensure provision of an effective and efficient assessment service; ensuring appointments are booked in a timely manner. There will be a need to assist with data entry and actively monitor appointments using the relevant I.T software systems.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will have the ability to communicate positively at all levels as well as being able to mange own workload by prioritising tasks accordingly to meet national screening targets.

The successful candidate will be educated to GCSE standard or equivalent and have working knowledge of Microsoft Window packages and possess good interpersonal and organisational skills, be a team player and work individually using initiative.

A flexible approach to work within the core hours of the service: Monday to Friday 8am to 8pm is essential to meet service needs.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

To ensure assessment work is carried out efficiently and professionally. 

To ensure recall to assessment clinics; core biopsies and mammotome appointments are booked in a correct and timely manner.

Will be expected to use initiative and discretion in the discharge of all duties and handle any queries in an accurate, efficient and professional manner.

They will also ensure the interval cancer work is kept up to date.
