We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic clinical pharmacist, with a keen interest in cancer services to work with the Lead Pharmacist (Oncology & Aseptic Services) and the wider oncology team.  You will be responsible for delivering, managing and developing high quality specialist pharmacy services, including pharmacist independent prescribing, to cancer patients and deputising for the Accountable Pharmacist in the aseptic preparation unit.

To be responsible for delivering, managing, and developing high quality specialist pharmacy services, including pharmacist independent prescribing, to cancer patients.

 

To deputise for the Accountable Pharmacist in the aseptic preparation unit.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

·        To deliver, manage, and develop high quality specialist pharmacy services, including pharmacist independent prescribing, to cancer patients.

·         To deputise for the lead pharmacist in ensuring appropriate oversight of clinical trials of investigational medicinal products.

·         To provide information and advice to patients and medical and nursing staff on the safe & effective use of anti-cancer medicines.

·         To support the Accountable Pharmacist to ensure the unit complies with the standards in Quality Assurance of Aseptic Preparation Services.

·         To work with the Senior Technician – Aseptic Services to provide daily operational direction, performance management and workload allocation to the aseptic services unit.

·         To participate in the training of other members of pharmacy staff.

·         To support with recruitment and retention of aseptic services staff.

·         To preform line management duties for at least one member of staff. 

Person specification

Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Master’s Degree in Pharmacy
  • Registered with the UK General Pharmaceutical Council
  • Post graduate clinical pharmacy training
Desirable criteria
  • Independent Prescriber

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Qualified Pharmacist with significant post graduate clinical pharmacy experience
  • Evidence of CPD
