Job overview

The successful candidate will undertake the Level 2 Supply Chain Warehouse Operative apprenticeship standard within the materials management team as part of the Procurement Division and will assist in making sure the flow within a critical environment, of all stock requirements is efficient and organised. Assisting in the control of safe receipt, storage, retrieval and timely dispatch and distribution to our customers and end users of a wide range of goods and products. We will provide opportunities to the postholder to further their career and build a specialist skillset upon successful completion of their apprenticeship within a fast-paced environment where each day will be varied, interesting and challenging.

Main duties of the job

·  Achieve and maintain the highest standards of procurement support to all our customers by ensuring all stock requirements are replenished as necessary to maintain the agreed inventory levels and within the agreed timescales.

Working for our organisation

QE Facilities (QEF) is a wholly owned subsidiary company of Gateshead Health NHS Foundation Trust (GHNT), based in the North East of England.

We provide a range of non- clinical services to GHNT and other NHS organisations. Our services include: estates, facilities services, procurement, medical engineering and devices, endoscopy decontamination and sterile services, transport, out-patient pharmacy, and prevention & management of violence & aggression training (PMVA). 

In addition we provide consultancy services, advising clients on all aspects of establishing a subsidiary company within an NHS body to the provision of VAT compliance advice.

QE Facilities work to their own Terms and Conditions and these are not the same as Gateshead Health NHS Foundation Trust Terms and Conditions. This is not an Agenda for Change Pay Rate.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

·         Perform general stockroom duties to include but not limited to housekeeping, put-away, stock rotation, cycle counts, systematic replenishments, and other functions according to customer requirements and service level agreements.

·         Distribute deliveries to the correct designated areas and regularly communicate with stakeholders to ensure all functions are aware of incoming deliveries and ensure all stock movements are accounted for and recorded.

·         You will be expected to carry out any other duties that may reasonably be required in line in with your skills, knowledge and experience and the needs of the business.
