The right candidate will successfully manage and oversee the pharmacy operations in a busy, hospital, outpatient pharmacy, ensuring efficient and safe medication management and dispensing. They will supervise a team of talented and ambitious pharmacy staff, manage budgets alongside the pharmacy manager, oversee training and progression of staff, and maintain compliance with regulations and policies.

· Understands and supports the principals and standards of a General Pharmaceutical Council registered Pharmacy site.
· Responsible for all daily activities associated with designated service.
· Supports the quality management system for effective Standard Operating Procedures and competency training of people.
· Supports the reporting of non-conformances.
· Responsible for the first response to informal complaints.
· Supports the Pharmacy Manager to plan and prioritise periods of high and unpredictable workload throughout the day/week.
· Effectively manage customer relations and make independent judgements when dealing with Trust Managers, Prescribers and Speciality teams e.g. Rheumatology, Cancer Services.
· Effective resolution of issues and communicate realistic outcomes to understand and meet customer expectation.
· Supports the recruitment process with short listing and interviews for designated area.
· Supports staff training and induction.
· Support the Pharmacy Manager with 12 monthly staff appraisals, sickness and absence policies.
· Supports the staff holiday rota to ensure safe levels of staff with appropriate supervision.
· Supports data collection and the reporting of monthly activity and performance.
· Works with the Head of Pharmacy Services and Pharmacy Manager to deliver actions through the designated service to respond to service failures.

We provide a range of non- clinical services to GHNT and other NHS organisations. Our services include: estates, facilities services, procurement, medical engineering and devices, endoscopy decontamination and sterile services, transport, out-patient pharmacy, and prevention & management of violence & aggression training (PMVA).
In addition we provide consultancy services, advising clients on all aspects of establishing a subsidiary company within an NHS body to the provision of VAT compliance advice.
QE Facilities work to their own Terms and Conditions and these are not the same as Gateshead Health NHS Foundation Trust Terms and Conditions. This is not an Agenda for Change Pay Rate.

We are looking for a reliable, flexible and well-motivated individual who takes pride in their work, to work as Pharmacy Supervisor at the QE Hospital. Main job purpose and duties are focused around the day to day operations of the pharmacy to provide a safe and efficient service to our patients.
We are committed to the delivery of a high quality patient experience. The successful candidates will be expected to maintain high standards in line with GPhC guidance. You must be able to work effectively as part of a team under pressure and have a flexible attitude to your work to meet service needs.

- Up to date knowledge and current registration with the GPhC as a Pharmacy Technician
- Demonstrate effective organisational and motivational skills
- Demonstrate and promote excellent Customer Service skills
- Demonstrate excellent communication skills. Have the ability to deal with Patients, External Suppliers, Trust Procurement team, Prescribers and Healthcare professionals
Experience

- Significant Service Delivery and Team Leading experience
- Significant Pharmacy Technician experience in Hospital Pharmacy or Community Pharmacy
Qualifications
