Job overview

We are looking for an enthusiastic, cheerful and self-motivated person to take on this busy role.  The post holder will work as part of a team administering four key Trust functions: complaints, serious incident, claims and inquest processes.    They will be expected to provide high quality administrative support to staff to deliver the highest levels of customer care.  

 

Main duties of the job

The post holder will help in delivering administration processes to support the four key functions and improve the experience of service users, carers and staff members.

The successful applicant will be educated to diploma level or equivalent experience.  They will have good written and verbal skills and the ability to work on their own or as part of a team.   They will manage their own workload to ensure timescales are met and will need a flexible and adaptable approach to working. The post holder will take notes at Patient Safety Learning & Improvement Panel (PSLIP), Complex Case panel and Mortality Review panel meetings and as such must be able to take and accurately transcribe minutes from complex clinical discussions.

Applicants can demonstrate a high level of personal resilience in dealing regularly with challenging, angry or distressed people on the telephone.

The post holder will work as part of the Clinical Risk and Investigations Team which forms part of the Safer Care Directorate.  They will be expected to provide good quality clerical and administrative support to senior staff.  They will input information onto the Safeguard risk management system.  They will work within well-defined administration systems, and processes so as deliver their duties and responsibilities.

Experience and Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Experience of taking and transcribing notes of complex clinical meetings
  • Experience of using Microsoft Office Suite
  • Have working knowledge and understanding of the NHS code of confidentiality and related confidentiality guidance
  • Working within established administrative processes and systems in a busy environment
Desirable criteria
