Job overview

The Patient and Carer Involvement Service sits within the Corporate Services of the organisation, there are two specialist domains, currently known as the ‘Engagement and Involvement Service’, and the ‘Peer Support Service’, both interface with clinical and other corporate teams in addition to partner agencies across the Trust footprint.

We welcome interest from enthusiastic, motivated and reliable people to join our very busy Core Business Team. We are an innovative, ambitious, friendly, and supportive team and are delighted to be able to offer a number of Involvement Co-ordinator posts, at Band 4. The posts will be office based at St Georges Park, Morpeth. This is a part time position.  Flexible working arrangements are offered.

Our Involvement Coordinators work at a level above that of an Administration Assistant, to support the management of involvement activities across the Trust. You will work as a member of the team, responsible for the coordination of the Involvement Bank. The Bank is a centralised resource, of over 200 registered people, with lived experience of mental health services, who support involvement activities.

Main duties of the job

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience of working with Microsoft packages, to include Excel, Outlook and Word. You will provide administrative, recording and reporting in respect of involvement governance, processes, and payments.

With direction from the Quality and Performance Manager you will coordinate public and internal events. Additionally provide administrative support in meetings for the Trust and Localities and have experience of minute taking, (further details in job description).

On a daily basis you will be required to deal effectively and efficiently with requests in person, via email, Teams or on the telephone, from patients, carers and staff. You must be able to demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

All applicants must demonstrate high levels of accuracy and attention to detail, work well with others and have a passion for providing a quality service and self-development.

The post holder must be able travel across the geographical area of the Trust.

Essential criteria
  • General level of education to O-Level/ GCSE or equivalent

Knowledge and Experience

  • Word/text processing skills, OCR/RSA Level 3 qualification (or the equivalent) plus relevant experience
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft applications, including e-mail communication
  • Previous NHS administrative experience
  • Good organisational and planning skills
