Job overview

We are seeking to appoint a highly efficient and motivated team player to take up the position of Executive Assistant providing professional, confidential support to the Executive Director of Nursing and Therapies, ensuring a high level of efficiently and communication, contributing to the smooth running of all aspects of service delivery. Working in a fast-paced environment you must have the ability to work under pressure, have a flexible approach to working and the ability to manage conflicting demands.  

The postholder for this position is expected to demonstrate exemplary minute-taking abilities, exceptional written and verbal communication, and a keen eye for administrative detail. Strong interpersonal skills, discretion, and the ability to work collaboratively within a team are fundamental, as is the capacity to provide confidential and sensitive support. Coordination of meetings and events including venue arrangements, catering, briefing materials, minutes, and prompt follow-up on actions remains central to this vital function

Main duties of the job

To support the smooth running of the Trust Board and formal sub-committees through provision of professional, timely, effective and efficient committee service and administrative support to the Trust Executive Directors.

To be responsible for the overall administration of a number of Trust wide Corporate meetings and supporting constitutional committees including co-ordination of yearly plan of meetings, booking venues, preparation of agenda/supporting papers, taking minutes and taking relevant follow up action.

The post holder will play a key role in communication between the Trust Board Members and Executive Directors including other Directors and senior managers of the Trust.

Education and Qualification

Essential criteria
  • Recognised secretarial qualification or have an equivalent portfolio of experience.
  • NVQ Level 4 or have an equivalent portfolio of experience.

Knowledge and Experience

Essential criteria
  • Degree level knowledge or equivalent experience.
  • Extensive secretarial experience at Executive Director level.
Desirable criteria
  • Experience in NHS environment

Skills and Competencies
