Job overview

We are excited to recruit a Band 7 Ward Manager for the Specialist Eating Disorder Unit, Ward 31a at the RVI.

The Eating Disorder Service is a specialist service, providing comprehensive assessment and treatment for adults with moderate and severe eating disorders in North East England.  The service provides treatment for males and females over the age of 18 on Ward 31a, Intensive Day Service and in the Community Adult Eating Disorder Team

The post holder will work within a multidisciplinary team to provide high quality and safe care for patients, staff and visitors.

They will provide compassionate care that is based on empathy, kindness, respect and dignity and who can role model the trust values at all times. They must have broad evidence of continuous professional development.

The post holder will be expected to demonstrate excellent clinical skills and we welcome applications from individuals who have experience working with individuals and families requiring support in relation to eating disorders.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will have operational responsibility for all aspects of clinical standards, professional practice, manage and co-ordinate staff, budget, resources and the environment.

Rostered on the point of contract rota; to ensure provision of service and staffing across Trust sites.

Demonstrate effective leadership, being visible and accessible to patients, families and carers which ensure efficient, effective and caring services.

Accountability for the delivery of all performance indicators, essential standards and quality outcomes

Develop and where appropriate deliver training packages to enhance the knowledge and skills of the workforce and students

Provide compassionate care that is based on empathy, kindness, respect and dignity

Workforce support and performance management eg. appraisals, supervisions, training requirements, attendance management
