Job overview
This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of an innovative and forward thinking dietetics service at one of the largest Trusts in the UK, rated ‘Outstanding’ by the CQC.
We have two fixed term band 5 positions within our acute team to support a maternity leave for 12 months and welcome applications from newly qualified to experienced Dietitians. This post will focus on adult clinical dietetics with a varied and interesting caseload of both in and out-patient work. We are also able to offer you a range of clinical opportunities to develop and consolidate your portfolio whilst offering exceptional lifestyle opportunities working for Northumbria Trust in the incredible county of Northumberland.
If you are ready for a new challenge to develop your skills and want to be part of a supportive and experienced team of dietitians this is the opportunity for you!
Main duties of the job
You will join our friendly and experienced team of Dietitians, Dietetic Assistant Practitioners (DAPs), Dietetic Assistants (DAs) and Nutrition Nurse Specialists who are based across the trust. You will support our acute adult clinical team by covering a variety of wards and general outpatient clinics which may be virtual, face to face, telephone and domiciliary.
We are a large department with over 50 staff across several teams: acute, diabetes, paediatrics, community, adult weight management, home enteral feeding, public health and admin, predominately based between the 3 main sites. This post will sit within the acute adult team although we can offer the opportunity to gain experience by shadowing the other teams.
We take A, B and C students from across the North East and North Cumbria partnership and all staff are encouraged to take part in student training – support will be provided for the successful applicant.
Working for our organisation
We manage three major locality hospitals at North Tyneside, Wansbeck and Hexham, plus a number of smaller community hospitals and clinics from Tynemouth to Berwick on Tweed, covering one of the largest geographical areas of any NHS trust in the country. Leading in innovation and quality – opening a state of the art Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital, the first of its kind in England.
