Job overview
We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed Housekeeper to provide efficient high-quality service to patients and families and be responsible for the co-ordination of all patient facilities within the ward area of the Paediatric Haemodialysis unit.
To support the nursing team in maintaining high standards of cleanliness of the ward, bed areas, equipment, and storage areas. To support in the reporting and monitoring of environmental cleanliness and safety along with the monitoring of quality standards.
To support the team in maintaining stock and equipment levels.
The post provides an exciting challenge to the successful candidate and gives the opportunity to play a key role in supporting the needs of patients, multi-disciplinary team and families.
You should possess excellent communication skills and the ability to liaise across multi agencies and multi-disciplinary departments.
The ability to work independently and adapt to an environment of changing priorities is an essential component to consistently facilitate a patient focused approach.

Main duties of the job
We require a well-motivated and enthusiastic individual to work as a Housekeeper within our Paediatric Haemodialysis unit, this role includes the undertaking of daily organisation, maintaining stock levels, audits, cleanliness of the environment and administration support.
You will be working with a fantastic and supportive team who will be happy to assist you as you settle within the team. Regular feedback and one to one will be provided by your manager.
Duties include stores ordering, management of stock, maintenance of equipment and general housekeeping of the unit.
It is essential that you can work in an orderly and systematic manner, that you have basic IT skills, good literacy and numeracy skills and the ability to communicate with patients, families and members of the community.
You should have a caring attitude, as well as the ability to work effectively under direct supervision, as part of the multidisciplinary team.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
- Be an effective member of the multi-disciplinary team assisting the Ward / Department to maintain a safe, clean and comfortable environment for the patients, their families and visitors.
- Report any concerns regarding the patient’s condition to the qualified nurse/Registered Clinician.
- Maintain patient’s privacy and dignity at all times.
- Report to the Nurse or Clinician in Charge any issues that may prevent cleaning or compromise the safety of the environment.
- Actively contribute to the provision of nutrition of the patients on the Ward / Department.
- May undertake administrative and clinical duties as required.
- To abide by Trust policies and procedures.

- NVQ Level 2 in appropriate subject (or on pathway) or equivalent qualification / experience
Knowledge & Experience
