An opportunity has arisen to be part of our busy linen room within the RVI.
As a linen room assistant you will ensure that all wards, departments, theatres and any other area requiring linen, are provided with daily deliveries of good quality clean linen, whilst ensuring that the agreed quantity and mix of linen are delivered.
Hours of the post will be 07:00- 15:00 Monday to Friday (37.5 hours per week)

Main duties of the job
Prioritise demands from users of the service.
Organise, checking, storage and issue of clean linen to end users
Ensure daily linen supplies are packed and sorted for distribution to wards / departments
Counting and recording of daily linen stock deliveries from Laundry.
Receive, check and issue staff uniforms.
Participate in linen counts and stock checks on wards and departments as and when required.
Ensuring that newly purchased linen is appropriately marked before it is put into circulation.
Organise and prioritise own day-to-day tasks.
Use initiative in response to emergency situations regarding linen supplies or shortages.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
- To ensure that all wards, departments, theatres and any other area requiring linen, are provided with daily deliveries of good quality clean linen, whilst ensuring that the agreed quantity and mix of linen are delivered.
- Provide Uniform Issue Service, including operation of Dry Cleaning Service.

The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
