Job overview
We are looking for an enthusiastic patient-focussed clinical pharmacist looking to develop their clinical knowledge and skills working into our inpatient areas and providing clinical pharmacist support to our community treatment teams across a range of mental health specialities.
Applicants should have excellent communication and team working skills and self-motivation to contribute to the development and delivery of the pharmacy service. We welcome applications from pharmacist colleagues working in all sectors of the profession. Prior working experience in mental health is not essential, as a comprehensive programme of education, training and clinical supervision will be provided. We will support you to provide high quality services to patients and healthcare professionals.
Main duties of the job
Across our Trust, pharmacy staff are fully integrated into and regarded as valued members of the multi-disciplinary team.
Our clinical pharmacy services include:
· Medicines reconciliation and review on admission and discharge
· Supporting patients and carers with the management of their medicines
· Optimising medicines, taking a holistic view of both mental and physical healthcare needs
· Physical health and wellbeing advice
· Discharge planning and liaison with primary care
· To personally work and encourage others to work within standards, legislation and guidelines in keeping with professional registration requirements
To act as a role model for other staff and to demonstrate personal conduct in a manner in keeping with being a registered professional.

Knowledge and Qualifications
Essential criteria
- GPhC Registered Pharmacist
- MPharm or equivalent first degree in Pharmacy
- Evidence of commitment to CPD as a minimum to meet the mandatory requirements of the General Pharmaceutical Council
Desirable criteria
- Working towards postgraduate clinical qualification Or Evidence of portfolio working towards RPS post registration foundation pharmacist curriculum
Experience
Essential criteria
- Experience in providing clinical pharmacy services
Desirable criteria
- Experience of hospital pharmacy
- Experience of working within mental healthcare setting
Skills and Competencies
Essential criteria
- Excellent communication skills
- Advanced computer literacy skill
- Excellent interpersonal skills

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
