Detailed job description and main responsibilities

  • Work closely with Business Analysts to comprehend user journeys and functional requirements, ensuring a thorough understanding of all our internally developed clinical systems
  • The post holder will develop and implement comprehensive test plans and test cases, ensuring coverage of all relevant scenarios.
  • Execute tests on various platforms and devices to validate the functionality of healthcare applications.
  • Create and maintain regression test packs to ensure that new updates do not adversely impact existing functionalities.
  • Support the test team in delivering QA responsibilities, fostering a collaborative environment for efficient testing processes.
  • Collaborate with developers to find solutions to challenges and actively contribute to the overall success of the projects.
  • Report progress and issues to the Test Manager, providing clear and concise updates on testing status.
  • Demonstrate the ability to detect and resolve issues promptly to ensure the reliability and functionality of all systems.
  • Stay updated with the latest testing techniques and software, demonstrating a commitment to continuous learning and improvement.
  • Willingly acquire new skills that contribute to the enhancement of the QA team's capabilities.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Degree level or equivalent plus additional specialist knowledge acquired through post graduate diploma level or equivalent relevant experience.

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Previous experience in a QA role
  • Identify test cases suitable for automation and collaborate with Test Engineers.
  • Experience of writing test plans that cover functional and none functional scenarios
  • Experience of logging and retesting defects in a defect management system
  • Experience of Automation testing or willingness to learn.
  • • The candidate should have a good level of knowledge around all aspects of QA testing and an understanding of the wider software development lifecycle, underpinned by theory and professional experience.
Desirable criteria
  • Working in a Healthcare setting
  • Experience of modifying/developing automation scripts
  • Experience of writing SQL
