Job overview
We have an exciting opportunity for a Ward Manager on Shoredrift Ward. Shoredrift is an acute admission ward based at Hopewood Park in Sunderland. The service is for men over the age of 18 years with a mental illness who require assessment and treatment in hospital.
Main duties of the job
A Ward Manager has a crucial role encompassing clinical leadership, staff management and operational oversight. They are responsible for ensuring high-quality patient care, maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment, and managing resources effectively. You will work jointly with the Specialist Nurse in offering effective leadership and day to day management of the team.
As the Ward Manager you will have day to day management of the team which includes recruitment of staff, conducting appraisals, managing performance and supporting the health and well-being of employees. The Clinical Manager will be available to offer regular guidance and support throughout.
Applicants should have a collaborative and enthusiastic style as well as a passion and commitment to networking with other services.
