The Inpatient Care Group are pleased to advertise a Clinical Manager post . The post holder will be responsible for an inpatient portfolio/pathway within the South Locality.
The post holder will provide clinical and professional leadership to the teams in providing the highest possible quality of care.
The leadership provided by the post holder is crucial to efficient, effective, and caring services. The post holder will be professionally accountable for standards of care and will influence the non-clinical contributions that are necessary to deliver high quality services.
The services are based within South Locality.
Main duties of the job
The Inpatient Care Group are pleased to advertise a Clinical Manager post . The post holder will be responsible for an inpatient portfolio/pathway within the South Locality.
The post holder will be responsible for supporting Ward Managers with all clinical, quality and workforce objectives for the service and work with the collective leadership teams within the services to develop and embed long term strategies for continued delivery of high quality and patient focussed care.
The post offers an exciting opportunity to help transform services within the South Locality, improving involvement of patients and carers, Third sector partners and developing collective approaches to delivering high quality evidence based services to meet the objectives of the organisation in meeting the needs of our patients and carers. A key piece of work within this post will be supporting the delivery of the Effective Inpatient and Urgent Care workstream.

Education and Qualification
Essential criteria
- Professional qualifications such as: RMN, BSc, OT, Psychology, Social Worker.
- Evidence of continuous professional development
- Educated to degree level or equivalent experience
Desirable criteria
- Recognised teaching qualification
- Educated to masters level
- Participation in international research initiatives. Evidence of published work.
- Experience of the use of information systems to support service delivery.
- Experience of research and audit at national, regional and local level.
- Registered Non-Medical Prescriber
Knowledge and Experience
Essential criteria
- Recognised management qualification or equivalent experience
- Extensive specialist knowledge of and experience in the speciality.
- Minimum two years’ experience in a Senior Nursing post.
- Up-to-date knowledge of contemporary nursing (current trends in care delivery and therapeutic interventions).
Desirable criteria
- Recognised teaching qualification Educated to masters level
- Educated to masters level
- Participation in international research initiatives.
- Registered Non-Medical Prescriber
Skills and Competencies
Essential criteria
- Experience of involving service users/carers/other professionals in evaluation/planning of services
- Knowledge of research methodologies and principles of audit
Role specific requirements
Essential criteria
- Ability to work with and manage personnel from different backgrounds
- Ability to set clear targets, motivate staff and delegate appropriately
- Ability to devise and deliver training packages relevant to the primary functions and key tasks of the post
