We are looking for two Business Support Administrators to join our People Team on a fixed-term basis until 31 December 2025. Main duties of the job
About the Role
As a key part of the People Team, you will provide essential business support across a variety of administrative functions. Your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting with general administrative duties
- Data management using Microsoft Excel
- Supporting the Electronic Staff Record (ESR) system
- Adapting to new processes and ways of working
This role requires a minimum of two days in the Pemberton office, Sunderland, with flexibility to meet service demands.

Our Integrated Care Board (ICB) is the largest in the country.
The ICB is responsible for ensuring that high quality and safe health services are accessible to all of our communities. It has a wide range of functions, including; promoting integration of health and care services, improving peoples health and well-being, reducing health inequalities.
With a £6.6 billion budget and a workforce of 170,000 people across the North East and North Cumbria. As well as strategic functions, ICB staff also work at place level with local health and wellbeing boards in each of our 14 local authority areas. These teams also work alongside our 67 primary care networks which are groups of local GP practices, social care teams and other community- based area providers.
The ICB works with our Provider Collaborative too, this includes the 11 NHS Foundation Trusts in the region, to deliver our shared priorities.

- Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy in all tasks
- Ability to support the People Team with administrative functions
- Competence in Microsoft Excel and mail merge operations
- Willingness to learn and develop expertise in ESR and HR processes
- Adaptability to respond to changing business needs

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- RSA/NVQ level 3 or equivalent relevant experience
- Significant business support level experience and acquired knowledge of relevant process or procedures.
- Significant experience of providing project/business level support
- Demonstrable level of experience of Microsoft Office package including Word, PowerPoint, Excel and One Note.
