Job overview

To be responsible for the efficient operational aspects of the Facilities Department within the site required to manage:

 

The post holder will lead on the development of standardisation of practices and processes within their area of responsibility to support the delivery of modern Facilities service with and a customer care focused approach to delivery.

 

The post holder will hold a key managerial role within the Estates and Facilities function and will lead by example providing a professional, positive customer focused ethos, and will strive to deliver high quality outcomes.

Main duties of the job

Support the Facilities team so as to ensure there are robust systems and processes embedded within area of responsibility, that are efficient, have sufficient governance in place and where possible are standardised in line with overall Estates and Facilities systems and processes;

 

Manage the preparation of timely accurate reports so they are produced and submitted as requested by Estates management and Safety and Quality team

 

To assist with the Development of key performance indicator reports for the Facilities department so as to monitor the performance of the Facilities teams identifying performance targets and provide regular reports on performance which recommend any required improvements

 

Produce regular performance reports and highlight reports

 

Support Facilities so as to comply with all relevant legislation and guidance including

Health Technical Memorandums and Standing Financial Instructions, Food Safety Legislation

Person specification

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Degree level or equivalent experience within Facilities Service
  • Level 3 in Food Hygiene and Food Safety as a minimum
  • Competent in computing skills to RSA 2 or equivalent experience
  • Technical Qualification in Cleaning Services or willing to work towards

Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Knowledge of Waste managements in NHS, including CQC outcomes
  • Knowledge of catering types and systems
  • Must be able to communicate with groups at various levels where there may be barriers to understanding
  • Knowledge of the statutory requirements governing the Facilities Provision
  • Ability to develop effective interpersonal relationships with colleagues
  • Numeracy skills to interpret benchmarking statistics and financial data, used to dealing with data both electronically and written
  • Ability to plan tactically and creatively and to prioritise work programmes in the face of competing demands
  • Ability to manage and deliver services to deadlines and within resources
  • Ability to collaborate constructively with internal and external partners to create conditions for successful partnership working
  • Proven ability to be customer focussed at all times
