Are you a registered dietitian looking for an opportunity in a dynamic Childrens community dietetic team?

Are you passionate about working within an MDT and supporting children and their families across Coventry?

If so, then this exciting role may be for you!

We are pleased to advertise the role of  a Senior Children's Dietitian, this service provides specialist assessment of childhood nutrition to the paediatric population of Coventry. This is a skilled post where the post holder will gain and utilise specialist knowledge in home enteral feeding, working alongside highly experience children's dietitians. 

The postholder will work closely alongside the MDT which includes community paediatricians, community children's nurses, respite, physiotherapy, occupational therapy and speech and language therapy services. 

Main duties of the job

To be responsible for managing a defined caseload of children and young people (age 0-19) with complex nutritional needs. 

To plan and provide dietetic intervention, in consultation with other colleagues, and work in a range of settings as appropriate (e.g. child’s home, school, health centre, family hubs). 

To adopt a family and child centred approach, collaborating with children and young people (and/or carer(s) where appropriate) in all aspects of the process (assessment, planning, evaluation, reporting)..

 To respect the dignity and preferences of children and young people and obtain written consent to dietetic interventions in accordance with departmental and trust guidance.

 To apply profession specific treatment approaches and effective clinical reasoning skills

To monitor, evaluate and modify using appropriate dietetic outcome measures to ensure effectiveness.
