Deputy Team Manager- Coventry 

Permanent Post- Full Time

This post is a key member of the Talking Therapies Operational Management Team, with responsibility for supporting operational management, including effective leadership and supervision of a designated geographical area.

The post holder will also support the Team Manager in ensuring the service is developed in accordance with National guidelines.

The post holder will retain a small caseload (ideally 40% of a full-time contract which may vary in accordance with service need) and will deliver a high level of psychological interventions with designated clients who have a range of complex Anxiety and Depression related problems.

Main duties of the job

  • Support Team Manager in project work and lead where appropriate
  • Represent the service area at local meetings in the absence of the TM
  • Provide strong visible leadership 
  • Support the Team Manager in the introduction of new and innovative business management strategies
  • Ensure that all staff in the service area are clear about what is expected and are working together in successful teams 
  • Promote a culture where staff feel empowered and accountable for service improvement at local level
  • Support Team Manager in developing and implementing reporting arrangements within the service area 
  • In the absence of the Team Manager review the service area workforce to ensure it has the right numbers of the right level of knowledge skill and expertise skill to deliver services 
  • Ensure that staff within service area are providing optimum quality of care 
  • Support the Team Manager in ensuring the team is adopting best practice to support the Trusts objective
  • Promote a culture where governance and risk management are seen to be everyone’s responsibility
  • Ensure that safety is at the centre of service area planning, analysis and delivery
  • Support the Team Manager in implementing effective systems to record and monitor governance and risk information

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • S A recorded qualification in High Intensity Cognitive Behavioural Therapy at Post Graduate Diploma Level.
  • Accreditation with the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies

Knowledge and Skills

Essential criteria
  • Demonstrable knowledge and expertise regarding National and local developments in Primary Care Mental Health and Talking Therapies
  • Clear understanding of statutory responsibilities under the Mental Health Act 1983, Clinical Governance, Child Protection, etc
  • Specialist knowledge of all the evidence based models of psychological therapy, evidence for their use and detailed knowledge of common mental health problems
  • Highly specialist theoretical and practical knowledge and skills working with mental health problems
  • Ability to analyse and present complex information to colleagues

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Substantial experience as a High Intensity Therapist within an Talking Therapies setting
  • Supervisory experience in an Talking Therapies setting
  • Experience of working in wider Mental Health settings
  • A well-developed professional CPD portfolio demonstrating extensive clinical experience
