Job overview

The Children and Young People's Neurodevelopmental Service having an opportunity for a Team Leader to join their school age team. The role may appeal to an experienced Allied Health Professional, Nurse, or Social Worker as it includes a small amount of clinical work alongside management roles.

The wider team include Occupational Therapists, Speech and Language Therapists, Nurses, Psychologists, Assistant Psychologists, and Neurodevelopmental Practitioners, working closely with Psychiatry and Specialist Mental Health Services

The post holder will have experience in working with neurodivergent children and young people.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be required to facilitate and undertake service and clinical audits and take a lead role in aspects of key service development activities. 

The Team Lead will be responsible for the operational management of delegated members of the team including offering supervision, managing sickness, performance and staff development. The role requires effective communication and leadership skills, experience working with the neurodivergent population and the ability to work as part of a dynamic multi-disciplinary team.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

The Team Lead will be responsible for the day to day operational delivery of the Neurodevelopmental School-age Team; allocating work as appropriate, providing supervision and appraisals, clinical audit, managing complaints and ensuring safe and effective delivery of the service

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent level of experience of working at a senior supervisory level
  • Relevant qualification or significant experience in clinical children’s field

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Experience of implementing new pathways of care
  • Demonstrable experience of driving service improvements
  • Experience and understanding of safeguarding
  • Experience of managing budgets, involvement in budget setting and working knowledge of financial processes

Other

Essential criteria
  • Ability to work throughout the CWPT geography as required for specific projects or CWPT wide developments
