Job overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen with the Mental Health Liaison Team, a Psychiatric Liaison Service which works out of three Acute hospitals in Coventry, Nuneaton and Warwick.
We have been success in securing funding to recruit to a fixed term/secondment for an additional band 7 OT clinician to join our expanding existing multidisciplinary team which includes an established small team of OT staff.
The job will include a mix of individual and group based community follow- and individual interventions within the general hospitals, in line with CORE 24 objectives.
We would particularly like to hear from Occupational Therapists with a background in Adult Mental Health/ Learning Disability and/or Older Adults Mental Health, however experience of physical complexities would also be applicable with this job role
Main duties of the job
We are strengthening our team and are looking for a skilled, motivated and compassionate practitioner and looking to offer a more responsive and comprehensive service than ever before for people who attend A&E or are receiving care in an acute general hospital. You will need experience of working with people across a broad spectrum of mental disorders including people who self-harm or who are in mental health crisis or experiencing mental disorders associated with ageing.
Successful candidates will be joining our well established and supportive team of experienced Clinical practitioners: Psychologist, Occupational Therapist, Consultant Psychiatrists, Clinical Support Workers and a Clinical Trainer to support new staff joining the team.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
We are looking for practitioners with Professional registration in allied health professionals, you will need a demonstrable level of clinical experience, and to be an excellent communicator and a good team player. You will need to be passionate and committed to delivering a service to a high standard, as well as being able to work in partnership with other teams and services including the Acute Trust hospitals.
MHLT work 365 days a year and offer a 24 hour service to the Acute Trust hospitals. The Band 7 OT post will require to work Monday to Friday.

- HCPC Registration
- Evidence of post-graduate education
Knowledge and Skills
Essential criteria
- Specialist Knowledge and applied skills of Models of practice (e.g. MOHO) & related assessments
- Evidence of on-going personal development (e.g. portfolio)
- Knowledge of health and safety requirements
- Organisational Skills
Experience
Essential criteria
- Significant post graduate clinical experience with good basic training/post graduate rotations (or within a community / intermediate care setting)
- Demonstrates an understanding of clinical governance in relation to Occupational Therapy
- Evidence of good generalist skills
- Evidence of staff supervision
