Clinical Pharmacist: Community Mental Health - Band 8a
37.5 hrs per week, permanent role

The primary role of this specialist post is to contribute to the provision of a comprehensive, high quality clinical pharmacy service to clinical teams within the Coventry and Warwickshire area. You will work as part of a well-established and respected Medicines Management team, whose focus is to develop innovative, patient-centred services and roles . No dispensary work is involved.

To actively contribute to and participate in the provision of Safe, High Quality, Timely, Patient Facing Clinical Pharmacy Services within the Partnership Trust, as part of the Trust’s Medicines Management Team
To participate as an active member of specific ward/unit/clinical teams, and support medicines management staff in their roles and other healthcare professionals
To provide expert pharmaceutical and clinical advice on all medicines and pharmaceutical related matters
To develop and participate in the delivery of education and training sessions to patients/carers and other healthcare staff
To support the implementation of the Medicines Optimisation strategy as part of the Medicines Management Team
To participate in local audit work and the collection of clinical activity data to support service developments

You will have experience in working within secondary care and be a forward thinking individual who has the ability to adapt, change, and contribute to excellent patient care.
You must have an independent means of transport to travel around the Trust’s geographic area and also to work flexibly to meets the needs of the Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership Trust.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Masters Pharmacy degree, or equivalent
- Current and continued registration and membership with The Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain (practising member)
- Specialist clinical post-graduate qualification (eg. Diploma in Psychiatric Pharmacy or Clinical Pharmacy or willingness to work towards a qualification)
- Independent Prescribing qualification or willingness to work towards
Knowledge and skills
Essential criteria
- A broad technical and pharmaceutical knowledge relating to the promotion of high quality, effective and cost effective use of medicines
- Must have a sound knowledge of pharmacy processes

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
