We are looking to recruit a Systemic Family Therapist, to support our service users, their families/carers and professional teams.
Location: Across Coventry & Warwickshire
Contract: Fixed Term for 20 months
Hours: 1 WTE
Exciting investment at Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership Trust (CWPT) allows us to expand our existing Forensic Community Mental Health Team. This ambitious, 2-year project is backed by significant funding and is focused on transforming mental health services for people who are a risk to others. Systemic Family Therapy is an integral intervention for our service users, and we are excited to pilot the provision in the service.
What We're Working On:
- Setting up a dedicated clinic space within a local remand prison
- Improving the transition pathway from secure care to community services
- Embedding forensic specialists into each Community Mental Health Team (CMHT)
- Providing consultation and formulation support to staff and services
- Creating a co-production forum for collaborative service development
- Offering targeted therapeutic interventions in the community
- Delivering comprehensive forensic training for all CWPT staff
- Leading research on community forensic services to shape future care
Main duties of the job
About You
We are seeking a therapist who can draw upon highly developed theoretical and practice knowledge in Systemic Psychotherapy gained from a master’s or equivalent entry requirements utilising extensive specialist knowledge from qualifications in more than one discipline
· A first post- graduate qualification in appropriate mental health/ social welfare profession e.g. social worker/ nurse/ psychologist or AFT agreed equivalent plus
· A Master’s qualification in Systemic Psychotherapy or AFT accredited equivalent (usually 4 years academic study, assessed clinical training & supervised practice including the full range of models within systemic practice and life span development).

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
1. A registered systemic psychotherapist, providing specialist systemic psychotherapy services to service users, their families and carers.
2. To provide consultation to the professional network bringing a systemic perspective to all aspects of the work of the community team.
3. Work autonomously and as a member of the multi-disciplinary team providing generic and specialist systemic psychotherapy assessments, therapy, care planning and interventions.
4. Carry a core work caseload
5. Provide specialist advice and consultation on systemic formulations and practice to colleagues and partner organisations.
6. Identify, analyse and interpret complex clinical facts using well developed interpersonal and communication skills to communicate highly sensitive condition related information and potentially distressing decisions to clients and colleagues in contexts of challenging behaviour and potentially high emotive atmosphere, working in emotionally demanding environments and/ or difficult working conditions.

Experience

- Experience of working with adults and/or young people experiencing mental health difficulties.
- Experience of working with a range of clients, presenting a range of clinical severity and maintenance of professionalism in challenging circumstances.
- Experience of tailoring psychological assessment and intervention to individual needs.
- Experience in providing consultancy to colleagues.
