Job overview

The role will be based at the City of Coventry Health Centre, Stoney Stanton Road, Coventry, CV1 4FS, within the Physiotherapy Department.

You will be first point of contact for patients on arrival to the department, responsible for checking patients in, out and booking follow up appointments.

Other tasks include, dealing with telephone queries, building ERS referrals from GP Surgeries and appointing, supporting the team and providing cover for other members of staff when on leave or off sick.

Utilising the Trust’s IT systems and maintaining electronic databases.

You will need to prioritise tasks to achieve timescales set and meet departmental KPI’s

Main duties of the job

Working under full supervision at all times, the postholder will support trained staff in providing a confidential administrative activities to meet the needs of the service in accordance with Departmental, Trust and National standards, policies and procedures

  • Respond to day to day enquiries referring to appropriate staff as necessary.
  • Process allocated workload on a daily basis.
  • Liaise with internal departments and on occasion external agencies where required.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

  • Assist with maintaining manual and electronic filing systems as required by the department.
  • Utilise relevant Trust IT systems, as determined by the role, ensure all relevant patient data is collected and input accurately in line with Trust guidelines.
  • Undertake basic administrative tasks as required.
  • Input data onto computerised systems as required by the department.
  • Assist with the distribution of incoming/outgoing post.
  • Work within Trust and departmental procedures to ensure that standards and deadlines are met.
  • Provide appropriate cover in the absence of other members of the team.

  • Aged 16+
  • Resident in the UK/ EEA for the last three years
  • Must NOT be in any form of formal government-funded education
  • Apprenticeship funding criteria applies.
