Trainee Advanced Paediatric Audiologist/Clinical Scientist Paediatric

NHS AfC: Band 7

Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a service providing audiology care for both children and adults. The post offers the opportunity to practise across a range of audiology specialisms, with a strong focus on paediatric audiology.

The post is suitable for:

  • An experienced Band 7 Clinical Scientist with a paediatric focus, or
  • A Band 6 Audiologist/Clinical Scientist wishing to specialise in paediatrics through a developmental Band 6–7 role.

Where a suitable Band 7 candidate is not identified, the post may be offered as a development role, with structured support, practical training, and completion of Master’s-level education in paediatric audiology, progressing to Band 7 upon successful completion of agreed competencies.

The role is ideal for candidates wishing to develop their leadership skills, with responsibilities including quality assurance, supervision, and service development.

We can support applications for STP equivalence via the Academy for Healthcare Science. Please note, this is not an STP (Scientist Training Programme) training post.

Please note that significant NHS experience is required.

Previous applicants need not apply.

Please be advised that the interviews for this post are due to take place in mid-late January 2026.

Successful applicants will be required to provide an immunisation and vaccination report, from either their current UK occupational health provider or their UK GP.
