Job overview

We are searching for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as an Apprentice Audiologist. 

The successful applicant will be supported to complete the Audiology Level 6 apprenticeship at Aston University, alongside on-the-job training with the Audiology Team. Whilst training, the role is at Band 3, moving to Band 5 on successful completion of the Apprenticeship.

This role is not suitable for Qualified Audiologists.

Successful applicants will be required to provide an immunisation and vaccination report, from either their current UK occupational health provider or their UK GP. 

Main duties of the job

This job is a training post to enable the post-holder to work towards becoming a qualified Audiologist. On successful completion of the apprenticeship programme, the post-holder will work as a registered graduate Audiologist within the Centre for Hearing and Balance Disorders at University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust.

We provide a full adult & paediatric Audiology service across Coventry and Rugby. You will be able to be able to demonstrate a caring and compassionate nature, with good interpersonal and communication skills. The ability to manage a busy and varied workload in a timely manner is essential.  We would expect you to have a flexible approach to day to day tasks, in order to meet the demands of the Apprenticeship and and the service.

The apprentice will compete all elements of the Audiology level 6 apprenticeship, studying at Aston University via a 4-year programme alongside gaining practical experience in the department. This will include both clinical skills and clinical administrative tasks within the department, in line with the programme of learning set out by the university Healthcare Science (Audiology): Degree Apprenticeship | Aston University.

On completion of the apprenticeship, the successful candidate will be expected to carry out domiciliary visits as required by the service. Although a driving license is not required for the training/apprenticeship, this would be required for the Band 5 role.
