Senior Specialist Dietitian

NHS AfC: Band 7

Job overview

Permanent part-time Band 7 Kidney Senior Specialist Dietitian  (0.5WTE)

This is an exciting opportunity to support the leadership of an experienced kidney dietetic team of approx. 8 WTE renal Dietitians. In addition, you will be providing band 7 dietetic support within the department and have a leadership role within the wider dietetic team.

Successful applicants will be required to provide an immunisation and vaccination report, from either their current UK occupational health provider or their UK GP.

Main duties of the job

To be considered for this post it is essential that you have substantial band 6 kidney dietetic experience within the NHS, and expertise in renal specialist areas such as satellite dialysis unit cover, peritoneal disease, pre-dialysis and kidney transplantation will be considered very useful for this role.

The ability to work autonomously is essential for this role, but you will also be supported by the kidney dietetic operation lead and kidney service leads.

As part of your role, you will take a lead in the development of the kidney dietetic service and will be supported closely with your band 7 colleagues. This will include areas such as audit, clinical guidelines, renal team meetings & business planning.

There will be flexibility on working days and times within core hours, but this will also need to meet service requirements.
