Specialist Dietitian - Combined Renal and Oncology Post
NHS AfC: Band 6
Job overview
Permanent Band 6 Specialist Dietitian 1.0 WTE - Combined 0.6 WTE Renal with 0.4 WTE Oncology
This is an exciting opportunity, for a band 6 Dietitian to join two separate established specialist teams of renal and oncology dietitians.
If appropriate we will offer support in the completion of specialist dietetic competencies, for the right band 6 candidate, to fulfil the requirements of both roles.
We will consider job share if candidates are interested in one speciality/or part time working, if we are able to accommodate this to fit the service needs.
You will be working within our large, friendly dynamic Dietetic department. The trust users electronic patient record keeping and has excellent library facilities. The department also supports return to practice, and flexible working.
Main duties of the job
This post holder will be based at the UHCW hospital in Coventry, but there would be the opportunity to cover renal services across Warwickshire (although the ability to travel is not an essential requirement for this role).
We are looking for a motivated, enthusiastic & experienced Dietitian with excellent communication and team working skills, to work as an integral member of these teams.
The role will have a case load of renal & oncology, inpatients and outpatients. There will be the opportunity to provide input to pre-dialysis, dialysis, renal transplant services, chemotherapy, radiotherapy & surgical patients, and both elements of the role have a strong MDT focus.
The whole department is actively involved in student training and committed to CPD. As a member of the dietetic team you will take an active part in the provision of training programs for A, B and C Dietetic Students.
Nutritional support (including enteral feeding) and acute NHS ward experience is essential. We are looking for a candidate with strong experience in at least one of these specialisms, and we are happy to discuss this further if needed.
