Job overview

You are warmly invited to apply for one of our Senior Clinical Fellow posts. The post is to start in February 2026.

This fellowship is ideal for:

  • Out of Programme Training (OOPT) doctors.
  • Intensive Care Medicine Stage 3 (SSY) trainees.
  • Doctors seeking a standalone simulation fellow post.

The successful candidate will join a dynamic and forward thinking department with a reputation for research and education.  There are two critical care units which when combined, provide care for up to 36 level 3 patients.  The Critical Care Units  manage over 1600 admissions per year. 

Main duties of the job

The appointed doctors will follow the same working pattern as our Residents.  They will provide care to patients across general (including neuro) and cardiothoracic critical care, working on the senior (StR level).  They will contribute to a 1-in-8 on-call rota for critical care. 

The Fellow will also work with our Lead for Educational Simulation to provide high quality in situ-simulation service to the critical care multi-disciplinary team.
