Interviews are due to take place on week commencing 19th May 2025.
The Paediatric department at University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS trust is currently recruiting for an enthusiastic, experienced and dedicated Senior Clinical Fellow to join our team starting in July for 12 months with possibility of further extension for suitable candidate.
The post would require the post holder to work at middle grade (ST 4-8 level) as part of the current second on call rota for paediatric medicine. The post holder will join the clinical team and will contribute to the delivery and organisation of the paediatric service. This post is suitable for candidates wishing to develop a special interest in a wide range of paediatric subspecialties. International medical graduates with GMC registration and appropriate experience are welcome to apply.
N.B. We reserve the right to close a vacancy before the closing date if we receive a high volume of applications or if there has been a change in organisational priorities.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will join a team of West Midlands deanery senior and junior specialty trainees and provide cover on the Tier 2 rota. This includes covering inpatient wards, a level 2 paediatric critical care unit and children’s emergency department. Successful candidates would be expected to contribute to the delivery of the paediatric service, participate in undergraduate and post graduate teaching and development of the service for the population of Coventry and Warwickshire.
There is a full shift system in operation which is EWTD compliant. The post holder will form part of this rota working shifts as designated on our paediatric wards/paediatric critical care unit and children’s emergency department. The specific shift pattern is flexible and can be discussed at interview but must include an average of one night per week and 1 in 6 weekends.
In addition to providing clinical cover you would also be responsible for maintaining up to date clinical records, updating discharge summaries, and communication with parents and colleagues. Consultants are present on site from 0900 – 2200 hours on weekdays and 0900 – 1700 hours on weekends and bank holidays. All consultants are easily approachable out of hours.
