Job overview
To provide comprehensive and confidential administrative and clerical activities to meet the needs of the service in accordance with Departmental, Trust and National standards, policies and procedures. To effectively communicate related information and advice to enable the multi-disciplinary team to achieve operational excellence.

Main duties of the job
Transcribing clinical dictation from busy trauma clinics with a 24 hour turnaround. supporting med secs with transcribing of elective clinics.
Cover absence of the Virtual Fracture Clinic administrator, act as a point of contact for the clinicians and nursing staff, making appointments, checking in and out patient appointments, Transcribing Trauma Clinic letters in a timely fashion to enable calls to be made to patients the same day and managing the telephone.
Supporting medical secretaries with ad hoc admin duties as required.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
- Carry out reception duties as required by the department, following department procedures and in line with the required start and finish times.
- Act as the first point of contact for dealing with enquiries either face to face or on the telephone.
- Deal with high volume of telephone calls assisting with enquiries and making suitable appointments, also dealing with emails that come into the department assisting with enquiries.
- Transcribe clinical dictation from the Virtual Fracture Clinic and any other ad hoc correspondence.
- Making outpatient appointments and cashing up clinics.
- Supporting medical secretaries with ad hoc admin duties as required.
