Main duties of the job
We are looking to employ Clinical Psychologists to join our well established team already inputting into the CLDT. The Psychology teams include Clinical Psychologists and Art and Music Psychotherapists. There is strong multi-disciplinary working within the service and the contribution of psychological services staff is highly valued. Successful applicants will receive excellent support and regular, good quality supervision and opportunities for continuing professional development. We have well-established links with the Coventry and Warwick Doctoral Training courses in Clinical Psychology, providing core placements, teaching sessions and supervising doctoral research projects. We are also developing further research links with Warwick University and there will be a variety of opportunities to maintain and develop your research skills.
The Psychologist will provide input to this Learning Disability service in the form of specialist assessments and psychological interventions, team formulation, consultation, training and supervision of other qualified staff. There are exciting initiatives underway including involvement in a national trauma-aide trial looking at the use of EMDR in people with learning disabilities, behaviour clinics in line with the STOMP/STAMP agenda and a Community Based DBT programme all of which are demonstrating good outcomes for our clients.

As an organisation we provide comprehensive mental health and learning disability services to the population of Coventry and Warwickshire. This includes Brooklands which is a national and regional provider of Learning Disability Forensic Inpatient Services. We also provide community services for the people of Coventry and IAPT and learning disability services in Solihull. There are four Community Teams for adults with a Learning Disability throughout the organisation and an Intensive Support Team.

The community jobs will require travel across the Trust so car owner/driver or suitable alternative transport arrangements will be required to enable you to undertake the job. The post is subject to an enhanced DBS Check.

- Experience of working with adults
- Experience of working with a range of clients, presenting a range of clinical severity and maintenance of professionalism in challenging circumstances
- Experience of tailoring psychological assessment and intervention to individual needs
- Postgraduate experience / training and skills in supervision including the supervision of doctoral trainees
